Markus Messinger

Biography

Markus is the Head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Liberty GTS, overseeing underwriting teams in London, Frankfurt and Amsterdam.

Prior to being appointed Head of EMEA, Markus was Head of Northern Europe of GTS for two years. After opening the GTS office in Frankfurt in 2017, he led the team for the DACH region.

Before joining the Liberty GTS team, Markus spent more than six years as a qualified lawyer in the corporate department of international law firm Milbank LLP.

He has extensive experience advising on and underwriting the full range of private equity as well as corporate M&A transactions.

Markus graduated from the University of Hanover, Germany (1.Staatsexamen). While obtaining his doctoral degree from the University of Hanover, he was a Visiting Scholar at Northwestern University, Chicago. Markus did his legal training (Referendariat) at the Higher Regional Court Hamburg including stages at international law firms Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Taylor Wessing.
